Free things to do on the Central Coast

The coast without overspending

The best of Maitencillo, Cachagua, Zapallar and Papudo charges no entry: beaches, coastal walks, viewpoints and fishing coves. Ideas to plan the day for the cost of getting there and little more.

To spend little

  • Bring your own food and buy fresh fish at the coves: the catch of the day is usually cheaper than at a restaurant.
  • Park farther away or come by bus: in Zapallar and Cachagua beach parking is paid by the minute.
  • Check the calendar: summer fairs, local festivals and concerts are often free.
  • Arrive early: you will find a spot and get back before Sunday traffic.
